Use Caution with ATM Transactions

The latest scheme in ATM fraud utilizes a skimming device placed over the ATM’s card reader which gives the appearance of being a legitimate part of the ATM machine.  The skimmer then copies the account numbers from the card’s magnetic strip.  In addition, a tiny digital camera is installed to film the customers key strokes.  Obviously, any ATM machine that looks different or unusual should not be used.  In addition you should observe the area around the ATM where a camera could be hidden which has a view of the keypad.  Such areas could be above the ATM’s digital screen or behind a pamphlet holder.
